  • Studied Judo and Aikido in 1983/1984
  • Started Martial Arts training in February 1985 Style:  Go-Ju
  • Started training in Karate with Shihan Michael Bernardo in September 1986
  • Achieved 1st Degree (Shodan) in 1990
  • Promoted to 2nd Degree (Nidan) in 1993
  • Promoted to 3rd Degree (Sandan) in 1995
  • Promoted to 4th Degree (Yondan) in 1999
  • Current rank:  Awarded 5th Degree (Godan) on November 19th, 2006
  • Instructs Karate
  • Currently assists with training several Traditional forms Competitors on the Canadian National Karate Team
  • His goal in Karate is to continue to help students achieve their Black Belt and to continue and increase his own learning and training in pursuit of his next degree.

  • Favorite Kata’s:  Kon Ku Dai and Gekido Sho
  • Proudest moment:  Watching both of his daughters achieve their Black Belts and seeing his Grandson start to train as a White Belt
  • Retired from Labatt Brewing company, Employed as Manager packaging Graphic Arts
